Heyrocco
The strangest cross between Kings of Leon and Jeff Buckley (though that’s not all you’ll hear),
Heyrocco have quickly become one of my go-to favorites.
I hate to bring age into the equation, but considering how young these guys are it’s unreal to imagine how talented they are.
Perhaps its their age that allows them to be fearless in their musical experimentation and with the honesty of their lyrics.
Whatever it is, I can’t help but be attracted to the innocence and vulnerability of their songs.
They take me back, remind me of a time when I wasn’t so cynical. When the world was an amazing place and the possibilities were endless.
Aside from that, they rock.
Rave Monks, (2012).
The American Tourist, (2011).
Brothers, (2011).
When they take it down it’s really quite beautiful. The layered melodies and soft, echoing vocals lull you into the dream world they’ve created. The story told with sound.
Young, (2012).
And then they go and experiment with the Chillwave genre. Is there anything they can’t do?
I don’t really care what they do as long as they keep producing music.
Lift Off, (2012).
I can only scratch the surface on this band’s talent. But please believe me when I say, they are amazing.
